Debuting at the 2013 New York International Auto Show is the new 2014 BMW 328d, a diesel variant of the 328i sedan. It will join the U.S. lineup, strengthening BMW’s position as one of the most efficient automakers. Powered by a TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine, the new 328d delivers 180 horsepower, which BMW says will get it from 0 to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds.

Not only is this car fast, it’s fuel-efficient, with gas mileage possibly exceeding 40 mpg; official U.S. EPA estimates won’t be available until it is closer to the debut. With the great performance seen in the 3 Series combined with the fuel efficiency of a diesel engine, the new 2014 BMW 328d has become a benchmark in its class.
